Hematoid Quartz, Fossil Coral & Tiger’s Eye Mala

Tiger’s Eye Guru Bead

Grounding · Focus · Confidence

Hematoid Quartz is quartz naturally included with hematite, an iron oxide that creates its distinctive shades of dusty rose, rust, red, and earthy pink. Traditionally associated with both grounding and clarity, Hematoid Quartz supports focus and concentration while helping bring scattered thoughts and energy back to center. It encourages a clear, steady approach to decisions and forward movement.

Fossil Coral began as ancient coral and was gradually transformed through the natural process of fossilization, preserving the organic patterns of the original coral in stone. Symbolically connected with time, endurance, and the natural cycles of change, Fossil Coral represents stability, patience, and resilience. It encourages staying grounded through transitions and adapting to change without losing your sense of direction.

Tiger’s Eye is a golden-brown variety of quartz recognized for its silky bands of light that appear to move across the stone. Long associated with courage, confidence, and discernment, Tiger’s Eye supports focused decision-making and purposeful action. The Tiger’s Eye guru bead anchors the mala with these qualities, serving as a reminder to trust your judgment and follow through on your intentions.

Together, these stones create a grounded combination for staying focused, adapting to change, and moving forward with confidence and purpose.

Mantra: I know what matters. I trust my decisions and take the next step.

Malas are deeply personal and meant to be chosen with care. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches—never mass produced. Every bead is individually selected for its quality, color, shape, and cut, honoring the traditional art of mala making while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.

Each mala is carefully prepared before it leaves the studio—cleansed, polished, and thoughtfully finished—ready to hold your personal intention or mantra.

Hand strung, this piece is designed to feel both effortless and enduring. Each bead is individually knotted, creating space between stones to support meditation and mantra counting, while enhancing strength, flexibility, and longevity. The result is a mala that drapes fluidly, wears comfortably, and is made to last.

Knotting Cord

All malas are double knotted with triple strand 100% silk. Smooth and fluid with a soft, natural sheen and a traditional feel. Lightly waxed for durability, offering a graceful drape and refined finish.

If you prefer, you can opt for vegan waxed poly cord. Durable with a slightly more substantial weight, ideal for everyday wear or wrapping as a bracelet. Designed for longevity while maintaining a clean, polished look. Please make a note in the comments section when you place your order.

What is a mala?

A mala is a strand of 108 prayer beads that was traditionally created for meditation, prayer, and intention setting—not as jewelry. The beads are used to count mantras or breaths during meditation, helping to cultivate mindfulness, presence, and focus.

Over time, malas have also become meaningful pieces that many people wear throughout the day. While some choose to use their mala exclusively for meditation, it has become widely accepted to wear one around the neck or wrist as gentle reminder to remain mindful or connected to a personal intention or the symbolic meaning of the gemstones.

Although a mala can also be worn as a wrap bracelet, whether it will comfortably wrap around your wrist—and how many times it wraps—depends on the size of your hand, your wrist measurement, and the size of the beads.

How are your malas made?

Every Pearl and Stone mala is individually handcrafted in my California studio using carefully selected natural gemstones and durable cord. Each bead is individually hand-knotted using secure, double-compressed knots for lasting durability and to create a beautiful drape while helping protect the gemstones from rubbing against one another. Every mala is made in small batches with attention to detail and is designed to be enjoyed for years to come. All malas are meticulously hand-knotted

What size are your malas?

Most Pearl and Stone malas measure approximately 42–44 inches in length and are intentionally designed to be worn as necklaces

Many customers also enjoy wearing their malas as wrap bracelets. Depending on the size of your hand, wrist, and the gemstone beads used, your mala may wrap approximately 5–6 times. Because every person is different, the fit and number of wraps will vary.

My mala is almost the right size. Can I adjust it?

Yes. If your mala is just slightly snug and you're having difficulty making the final wrap, you can very gently stretch it by holding both ends and applying slow, even pressure.

Because each bead is individually hand-knotted, there is a slight amount of natural give between the knots. This small amount of flexibility is often enough to help the mala comfortably roll over your knuckles.

Please stretch only as much as necessary. Pulling too firmly or stretching too quickly can create visible gaps between the knots and the gemstones. A slow, gradual adjustment is all that's needed and will help preserve the beauty, structure, and longevity of your mala.

My mala feels too loose. What should I do?

If your mala wraps comfortably but the final loop hangs a little loose, simply twist the last loop 1–3 times before rolling it over your hand. This creates a more secure, comfortable fit while maintaining the natural drape of the mala without placing unnecessary strain on the cord.

Can my mala be restrung?

Yes. Pearl and Stone malas are crafted to last and are backed by my commitment to quality. I offer complimentary lifetime restringing and repairs due to normal wear, so you can continue enjoying your mala for years to come. Simply contact me at info@pearlandstone.com to arrange your repair. Customers are responsible for shipping costs to and from the studio.
